Summary blog chapter 1-4
In these chapters we are introduced to the protagonist of the book, Winston Smith. Winston is a clerk in the records department of the Ministry of Truth. His job is composed of changing historical documents in order to match up with the political party's story of the past. Winston is very intellectual who has a tendency to resist the stifling of his individuality. He has a constant struggle to make it appear that his individuality has been completely stifled by the government, when in reality he is free from the governments mind control. In these chapters we also learn about the party. The party is in complete control of everything, the are constantly monitoring everyone's actions and even their thoughts. The government has changed people's thoughts and memories of the past in order to make the party seem like it benefits the citizens of Oceania, when in reality the government has taken away people's individualism and has made life in Oceania much worse. The leader of the party is Big Brother. Big Brother is on all of the propaganda and is used to intimidate citizens.

Infragard- The Partnership Between Citizens and the F.B.I.
Infragard is a partnership in which the public shares information with the F.B.I. in order to thwart criminal activity. I thought it was interesting that they have people in so many places. People have access to tons of personal information including people having the ability to track us through our cell phones, and that people can access my personal email. Infragard was started in Ohio. Now it is a national organization with influence in every F.B.I. office around the country. They have people every where, people listening to what you say and see what you send in emails. there is more information that the government has access to than ever before. they can see your web searches and all other online interactions. Infragard is a vast system and a system that reaches into every part of your personal life, Is this in invasion of your privacy? I think this is a very interesting topic and very relevant in today's society. its also intriguing due to the fact that it is so controversial, many people think that Infragard is overstepping government power and invading citizens privacy.
